GigTel uses market-leading infrastructure and partners with service providers in select markets to ensure that customers get excellent call quality on every call. Our system delivers optimal HD call quality without dropped calls or downtime.
You can move your existing number over to GigTel. However, you may not be able to port your number if you are moving and the area code is changing as a result.
Since VoIP calls travel through the internet, having a stable, fast internet connection will ensure you get the most out of your system. For best service, your connection speed should meet or exceed 100Kbps both upstream and downstream per user.
To test the speed of your service, you can use free online services such as speedtest.net. This will give you a snapshot of your current functional bandwidth, but it is important to note that this metric can vary depending on how much bandwidth your various business applications are utilizing at any given point in time.
We want to set you up for success. If you have any questions or concerns, a GigTel rep can help you identify your connection speed before moving forward with a VoIP solution.
“Cloud-based” means that the core technology infrastructure providing the business phone functionality is hosted in our geo-redundant, secure data centers and delivered to your business over the web. This eliminates the need for capital investment and the hassle of installing and managing complex hardware in your office.
If you switch to GigTel while remaining in your current area code, you can typically keep your current business number. We can confirm on your behalf prior to signing with GigTel. The porting process takes approximately 2-4 weeks and is dependent on how quickly your current provider releases the phone numbers.
With GigTel, you don’t have to worry about your phone system becoming obsolete months after you buy it. It exists in the cloud, so new features and updates are rolled out and installed automatically, and there’s no hardware to maintain.
UCaaS helps small businesses to keep their teams running smoothly with as little initial investment as possible. Cloud-based UC services can even eliminate the traditional CapEx spend associated with an on-premises system. As you evaluate UCaaS providers and options, be careful to understand what is included in their published pricing as many providers have a la carte services that quickly add-up.
GigTel’s cloud-based phone system includes a call forwarding feature. When you enable it, calls are forwarded to an alternate number, such as a mobile phone, in the event of a power disruption. While your physical handset may not work, you will still be able to make and receive calls.
After you port your numbers, you can cancel your phone lines with your existing carrier and start recognizing the cost savings immediately!
The great thing about GigTel is that it is very feature-rich and robust yet priced very competitively. As compared with other providers' pricing, you’re getting a full package whether or not you want to use everything.
Just the phones! When you sign up with GigTel, typically the only equipment you need to install is the phone. You can purchase separately or lease or buy through GigTel.
No! That’s the great thing about the GigTel! All your functions are done from a web browser allowing you to use GigTel regardless of your location.
In most cases, the porting process takes 2-3 weeks from the submission of all the documents. Incomplete information and pending orders can delay the process.
Those who have ordered hardware or any one-time services will be charged upon order acceptance. All other recurring services will begin charges upon activation of service which will be advised via email. Activation of service occurs either when you receive temporary phone numbers for forwarding from your previous carrier, or upon porting your first number to our service.
GigTel has been offering affordable SIP Trunks for years for businesses looking to upgrade legacy PBX systems to modern, affordable voice communication. Ask us about our budget-minded pricing for superior voice solutions.
With GigTel's Supervisor seat you can Barge, Listen-In, and Whisper into an Agent's call.
A pop box will appear at the bottom right corner of the portal screen. Within the box, you will have options to join the call (Barge) or to Whisper to the extension of your agent.
Yes! For business owners, you no longer need to purchase and manage mobile phones for employees. The cloud-based solution ensures that you maintain data security, reporting functionality, and manage features and usage based on user role. The app allows workers to work from anywhere without any fees or charges to their personal accounts.
Unlike data locally stored on a smartphone, ALL data (call history, contacts, messages, voicemails, etc.) are securely stored in the cloud. Your account administrator can log into the GigTel portal to modify, transfer, and restore access without losing data.
GigTel provides E911 services where supported. We will collect your address when your devices are registered and send it to emergency response personnel when you dial 911. If a device is moved to a new address, it's essential that you provide GigTel with the new location.
Not all UCaaS solutions support HIPAA Compliance. If you are subject to the compliance mandates, it's important that you have potential UC service providers prove that they've been audited to verify that their solution supports compliance.
Compliancy Group offers 3rd party verification that GigTel's UCaaS and CCaaS solution supports HIPAA Compliance mandates.
Yes, we will sign a BAA in order to satisfy HIPAA-related requirements. While telecom itself cannot ever be fully compliant, we subscribe to all of the principles and guidelines in order to be considered HIPAA compliant. Just keep in mind that once a phone call leaves our network we cannot control access or auditing. Please contact us to request your BAA and we will respond within 96 business hours for your signature.
Definitely! GigTel provides all the communications methods needed. No need to keep paying for 3rd party apps for SMS/MMS, Faxing, or Video Conferencing. Streamline and save when you consolidate all those platforms using the GigTel solution.
Very few of our referral partners have telecom backgrounds, and most have never been in sales. Our most successful referral partners are individuals interested in networking and helping businesses run more efficiently. Our partners offer an introduction to a company that may be interested in upgrading or replacing their current phone system, and a GigTel technology advisor is then responsible for the sales process. Upon closing a deal, the referral partner gets monthly residual income for the life of the contract, including Renewals.
When we receive a referral, our first step is to follow up with you to confirm receipt of your referral, review any insight that you may have, and discuss whether you would like to be included in the sales process. Next, we’ll reach out to your referral. If they’re interested, we will continue the discussion. If they’re not interested, we respect their decision and cease communication.
We recommend that you schedule time for a demo so that you can see the solution for yourself before becoming a referral partner. Once you become a partner, you’ll have access to our Partner Portal. Referral Partners are not required to take training or provide leads with sales collateral, but we make these resources available if you wish to learn more about the services.

Since an Auto-Attendant is the first thing a client hears when calling your company, it can be very stressful to make it sound perfect, so to relieve some of that pressure, we’ve put together some tips and tricks to get the perfect Auto-Attendant.
Keep it simple. Don’t use more than three levels in an Auto-Attendant, and don’t create too many options. The human brain can only remember 7 bits of information at a time, so 7 options should be your maximum.
Make it short and sweet. Each recorded message should be no longer than 60 seconds.
Keep direct voicemail options to a minimum. If the client is calling outside business hours, they should be sent to the voicemail person who can help them best as quickly as possible, if no live help is available.
Maintain the flow of the menu. If the first option is “Press 1 for support”, don’t make the next one “Press 9 for sales”.
Note: It is also a good idea to ensure the order of your options makes sense. If most clients call for billing, then that should be the first or second option on the menu.
Listen to your recordings. Clients shouldn’t have to strain to hear the message, but it shouldn’t be deafening loud either, so making sure they are at the right speed, volume, and clarity is crucial.
Don’t make frequent menu changes. Find a menu structure that works and only changes a little to avoid confusing callers.
Use an editor for recordings. Many free sound editors like Audacity can delete long pauses, shorten recordings, and improve sound quality overall.
Keep your Auto-Attendants up to date. As employees come and go, it's vital to make sure that the Auto-Attendant is always correct.
Allow a live help option. Include a direct route to live assistance, such as “Press 0 for an operator.”

(You could set the same Auto-Attendant recording for lunch, and have the options go to a specific person's voicemail instead.)

Using the GigTel Mobile App, you’re in full control, and your business and personal information are kept separately. It allows the user to manage voicemails, Answering Rules, and other settings within the app. Even more importantly, it gives each user the ability to make calls using either their business or personal phone identity, see other users' presence icons, and use GigTel’s in-call features. For example, a user can record a call or seamlessly move active calls from one device to another.
VoIP is a voice service provider, handling inbound and outbound voice calls over internet protocol (IP). UCaaS seeks to take all business communications and route them over IP. It's multi-modal, incorporating text messaging, chats, video meetings, screen sharing, Virtual Receptionist/Auto-Attendant, call routing, and more.
GigTel's platform is secure and has been audited by a third party to validate that it supports HIPAA Compliance. For Video conferencing you will need the GigTel Advanced seat. Our seat types can be mixed and matched. If any members of your healthcare practice do not require video conferencing, the Standard seat offers all UCaaS benefits with the exception of video.
You’ll be pleased to know that most of the desired features are part of our Inclusive License Model.
